"CROPPING FOR BABIES" is back!

We are thrilled to, after missing a couple of years, to once again host our scrapbooking event, Cropping For Babies!  The event will be held on January 23, 2010, frm 10am to 6pm at the First Christian Church in Clearwater. The registration fee is $25 and each cropper will recive a fantastic goodie bag, raffle tickets, door prize tickets, lunch and snacks!  If you are a scrapbooker, just imagine and entire day of cropping with NO INTERUPTIONS!

Are You A Mom?

Are you a Mom? Do you remember packing your overnight bag for the trip to the hospital when your baby was born?

I remember taking everything just short of the kitchen sink!  Some things I took were necessities and some just made my experience happier and definitely more comfortable. 

Unfortunately, many of our moms-to-be do not have the resources necessary to purchase these items.  With your help, we would love to assemble"Comfort Bags" for our moms-to-be to take to the hospital at delivery time.  If you are moved to donate, here is a list of the items we would like to include. You may donate a completed bag, or just some of the items - all donations will help make our moms birth experiences  happy (and comfy)! You may deliver your donations to Kimberly Home or email berylm@kimberlyhome.org to make arrangements for pick up.

PS - if you're a mom and you think of an item that you found especially helpful or comforting and we have left it out, feel free to include it! 

• Comfy robes or bed jackets - thinner fabrics won't bunch up in bed
• Large size nightgowns - No one is happy in a hospital gown.  The style with breast-feeding openings are great!
• "Slipper-socks" - the kind with the grip bottoms
• Lip Balm - hospital rooms are often so dry
• Lotion - un-scented is good
• Sports Water bottles
• Elastic hairbands
• Small Journal / pen 
• Small bags of crackers - Saltines
• Hard candy / LifeSavers  - peppermint and ginger flavors are especially good for nausea
• Small photo album - with paper inserts for baby's tiny new footprints
• Disposable Camera
• Plastic envelope/folder - for all of that paperwork you leave with!

• Tote bag

Thirty is a Magic Number!

 WOW! We had 30 new babies delivered in the month of June! Many are born each month, but thirty just may be a record! We welcom Ryder, Joseph, Kenneth, Anthony, Robert, Jacob, Breylon, Dylon,Mario, Jael, Luis, Lucas, Brian, Kevin, Jaiden, Yovanna, Sophia, Desiree, Joyelle, Marilyn, Savannah, Gianna, Valeria, Nevaeh, Jania, Lilly, Katora, Andrea, Kilye and Jayden.  We wish these new gifts from God a happy and joy-filled life!

It Will Be The Bees Knees!

Grab your flapper feathers and your spiffy suit and join us for The Roaring Twenties our 2009 Gala and Auction. There will be a ritzy auction, a delicious dinner, entertainment that will knock your sock off, a few surprises and lots of fun as we support Kimberly Home.  Proceeds will help us to continue helping our new moms and their babies. Celebrating Wonderful Women

    On May 6, 2009, Kimberly Home Pregnancy Resource Center is celebrating all the remarkable women in our lives with our 1st Annual “Celebrating Wonderful Women” breakfast at the Belleair Country Club. The event will be emcee’d by Olivia, radio personality from Spirit FM, and our guest speaker will be Yolanda Fernandez, Channel 8 News anchorwoman. Attendees will enjoy good food and fellowship in the beautiful Belleair Country Club, and will have the opportunity to meet several of our client moms-to-be and new moms (who we think are pretty wonderful women themselves!). We know quite a few amazing ladies, but we bet you do too, so we’re inviting you bring them along. To make it even more fun, we are hosting a Wonderful Woman contest! We all know a special woman who goes the extra mile for others, an unsung heroine in our family, our workplace, or our community and we invite you to nominate her as one of this year’s” Wonderful Women”. You may nominate your own Wonderful Woman by providing us with a short paragraph about what makes her special to you and we will honor her at the breakfast. All nominees will be featured in our program and receive a special gift, and one deserving nominee will be chosen as THE MOST “Wonderful Woman of 2009.” Nominating someone is not a requirement. You are welcome to simply join us for the fun and festivities. Meet and greet will begin at 7:00 am and breakfast will be served at 7:30 am. The program will end promptly at 8:45am. Raffle tickets will be available for a number of prizes, the proceeds of which will support a yearly scholarship program for a deserving Kimberly Home client. Display tables and advertising opportunities are also available for those who would like to promote their business or skill.
